    The 1970 Chandler High School baseball team won the Arizona 3A State Championship.  It was the school's second

    1970 CHS Baseball Team

    baseball championship, but overall it was Chandler High's first "big school" title.  The team was coached by local legend Bobby Noel (CSHOF 2006).  They won the first ever Central Region Championship, and Coach Noel was honored by the NCAA Coaches Association for his work that season.  Despite owning a record of only 15-8-1, the team got hot heading into the playoffs and carried the momentum through to the championship game.  Several team members went on to play professional or college ball.

    Team members were: Robert Albin, Ralph Aldecoa, Mike Arbuckle, Dennis Bias, Larry Bond, Gary Carver, Gus Comacho, Chess Haley, Chris Harshey, Pedro Navarro, Joe Nix, Boni Ortiz, Reed Pew, Greg Snowden, Joe Sosa, and Bob Tate.
