06811.jpgThe Ostrich Festival is an annual event held at Tumbleweed Park.  It started in 1989 as a community event to commemorate Chandler's unique ostrich history. Today it has grown into one of the largest events in the East Valley, covering three days and drawing well over one hundred thousand people.  The main event is the ostrich races which occur several times each day of the Festival, and which are held in the section of the park known as Tumbleweed Ranch.  Tumbleweed Ranch is operated by the Chandler Museum, and features a handful of historic structures, a small outdoor theater, demonstration fields, and exhibits of historic agriculture equipment.
